V4 and Sonett 3 are normal negative ground from the factory. I don't know for certain on a two stroke but I doubt it, as they are largely Bosch.

The free wheeling can be locked out.  there should be a small une the dash or it can be done under the hood on the transmission.

Disconnect the free wheeling control . Put the lever on the transmission control in lock out.  Did this on both of my 96's with no problem.  They were oil injected.

I saw plenty of destroyed ones when I was the go to guy for Saabs in my neighborhood.Teeth torn right off the sliding engagement dog inside the transaxle.

BTW, I used to have a sports racer that used the Taunus V4 engine - nice compact units, though with limited power potential.  I liked the suggestion of a small V6 if one were to hot rod it, but it would really be nice to keep it stock - there are so few of them around.

I have seen turboed Taunus engines in Sonnets on the net.  They look very interesting.
