The motorhome 440 project is one that I've been offered and considered before, except to repower a '66 Coronet that's actually in nice condition, even with its wheezy 318 poly.

That episode almost made me do it.

I used to read it. Now I read Bon Appetite.

And yes, I am fatter and slower than I used to be.

Frieburger was a better read in 4WOR.

That happened about 3 miles from my apartment...

I wish I had known, I'd have been down there helping them.

As a 10 year old boy I couldn't tell you how excited I was when my Dad got a subscription to Hot Rod and 23 years later I'm still reading it and I have 3 full rows of 8 ft. long bookshelf full of them. Every time I move I consider tossing them out and then I think about the idea of flipping through these in another 20 years and looking back at some of the trends we all witnessed back then and how silly or good they look now and I decide to keep them.

What I love about HotRod is to that to me like GRM it's "A Car Magazine's Magazine". They do a good job of not focusing focusing in solely on one particular type car maker or specific model, they try to find interesting creative cars, and they have done the hobby a great service for creating events like Power Tour and Drag Week and for their coverage of the Salt Flats. I'm a true ENTHUSIAST who can respect and appreciate any car that goes fast, handles better, and looks better and I think they do a good job of keeping my interest no matter what I'm driving at the time. Sure some issues are going to have a handful of cookie cutter cars as features but it isn't like flipping open Mustangs and Fast Fords or Chevy Hi Performance and feeling bored to death after flipping through 5 different variations of people doing the same thing to the same cars. I think Frieburger has a great sense of what the magazine should be and he upholds that tradition well.
