For a long time been wanting a caddy. Atually since I read the C Van Tune article in motortrend about his Gold convertible Deville on sunset blvd.
Pulled the trigger thanks to all your info on this thread.

Nice, what year is that? My dad had a '69 vert that I got to drive regularly as a teenager. It was a wonderful boat, cruise all day. Enjoy!

First thing I'd do is make sure the switch pitch trans is working. It's amazing the difference it makes off the line. Oh and get a good spare front cover.

Oh I love these. Trying to get a buddy with a 65 connected with someone near Detroit to rebuild is 429 that started knocking hard and making terrible noises.
Love it! So much presence.
WOW !! That's a LOT of real estate to polish, even more if you have to straighten it.
In reply to 914Driver :
good thing is body and paint is excellent. :)
In reply to z31maniac :
thank you sir! has nothing on all the ls400/ls430 or the 600hL ownership
In reply to MotorsportsGordon :
yes 429 fun... i posted in the other thread ....
In reply to imgon :

Congrats on the nice Caddy. It's all very reasonable to want such a machine, but I couldn't help but be a bit puzzled by your obscure inspiration. I would think that Hunter S. Thompson gave us all the reasons we could ever need to desire a classic Caddy convertible in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

hmm never seen or heard of it. will have to look it up
probably because i am the furthest from the demographic of owners of this car (when it was new or now)
In reply to mr2s2000elise :
For the engine but I see that you're getting a rebuild in the other thread. I'm sure they'll address any oil pump issues then.
In reply to Stampie :
I want to merge threads - hope someone can fix it
yeah having to rebuild it myseld - slow going
Man, all the hookers and blow potential in that trunk....
In reply to mr2s2000elise :
Then do research on the oil pump and timing cover. Make sure your's is good so that you only have to rebuild it once.
Here's a good video showing the integrated oil pump housing and he touches on making sure the it isn't worn. I'm pretty sure the FSM would have specs. Let me see if I have/can find my 67 FSM.

Not into the blow...definitely escorts/hookers. YUM
Found a 66 FSM. I was hoping for a bore measurement but just says to inspect for wear.
