I'd rather eat my buttcheeck fat than have to hear about that bloke one more time. Anyone else getting tired of what he's turned rally, STI's, and Fiesta's into? Flatbillers, kids in highschool or early 20's owning these that were meant for rally cars built from the factory, style statement? with monster and dc stickers all over the berkelying thing...that seems to be in this area. I mean I can yank a handbrake and step on the throttle like a spastic monkey who just shotguned 8 redbulls in an empty airfield. They think he's the greatest thing of car control, the best thing since Tang! You ask them Ken Block, they wet themselves and go in a epileptic seizure, you say Petter, McRae, Rohl, Vatanen, Gronholm, Sianz, they look at you like you have a tie rod sticking out your head. And all those didn't have a multi million dollar company, came from a country that doesn't have much, and just learned how to drive when he was 4 and just had natural talent, what the heck people. I guess i'm just one of the 3% of young people that just don't get it and impresses me.

aaannnd just for funnies..How hard can it be!

dude, as far as rally skill goes, perhaps he has something to learn, but as far as his car control goes, youve missed the mark sir. I dont know if youve ever driven a car before, but it takes more than yanking the ebrake like a spastic monkey to get a car to CONTROLLABLY go sideways on purpose, and even more to bring it back when and where you want it to. Are there better drivers out there? yes, undoubtedly. But as far as creativity, skill, and WORKING TO ADVANCE NON-NASCAR MOTORSPORT AWARENESS, hes gone light years. Chill already. Flatbill turdholes will always exist. Live with it. if 10% are still gearheads in 10 years once they actually have responsibilities and are paying mortgages, buying groceries, and voting, they will all remember those Ken Block videos, and the art of car handling, and will not want to watch gofastturnleft racing anymore, and maybe, juuuust maybe, rally will be on their list of stuff to watch this weekend.

You are just jealous. You know that if you had helped start a company from nothing and sell it for millions of dollars, you would be spending as much of your money on racing as you could too.

He is a rich berkeleyer doing what he has the money to do.

Haters gonna hate!

Besides, he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. The Platinum tooth is a little ghey, but much cooler than Gold.

I was going to say the video I watched of him the other day shows me the guy can drive.

How do you feel about the kids who think they discovered Von Dutch?

I have no problem with the guy himself. He's a great driver, and is fun to watch.

All the flat billin' Brotatoes (see the official Brotato logo that I posted above, brought to you by the kind folks over on NASIOC) that think they can do all that stuff and crack up their WRX's which drive my auto insurance premiums up, well, I have a problem with them.

He may have received some driving opportunities from the wealth he amassed. However, he has demonstrated that he is a talented driver. Pretty much seems like the american dream to me. He may not be a threat to win the WRC this year, but he has demonstrated enough talent to warrant the opportunity to compete. I think your problem is with the Joey's that try to copy him.

Sounds to me like you hate Ken Block fans more than Ken Block himself, although I do see a couple of jabs at his business acumen.

YES THANK YOU TOM, you are correct! I did miss some stuff out when I said about the yanking ebrake thing but my point is, everyone that watches think he's the only one that can do it, give me a helmet and some practice runs....guess what, that's EXACTLY what HE did. Apparently anyone can do it with some practice as he has shown. I actually got to meet him to, now he is VERY different than he appears to be on TV and he is very down to earth and quite friendly. He said that even himself never imagined the videos to gain that much popularity. The thing that impressed me is when he himself said "I still am learning a lot, as you can see with me almost mowing that tree over" which is something I would have never known if I wouldn't have met him personally. I just don't like what the viewers had turned his image and all that other BS i'm talking about into. I'm glad they are interested in rally I really do! Just realize there is more than one other driver that can do what he did. I'm not trying to sound like my bum is the greatest thing to ever grace a freaking Recaro, because it isn't, it's just the image everybody portrays is all wrong and the kids are showing wrong impressions.

Mention Joe Namath to a Spaniard and see what the result is. Go ahead, I'm waiting. Thought so. Now, mention Carlos Sainz and watch the reaction. Now, to the same person, mention Paddy Hopkirk (sp) and see the reaction.

It's all relative. And, by the way, lets put the OP in one of Block's cars and see if he can duplicate any of the results--esp the circle the cone at the top of the high, steep banking.

Funny, I didn't much care for the guy when I met him. Different strokes I suppose.

yes he does, which compared to some of his brotato fans is awesome! I guess i'm saying is, you don't have full respect for the guy until you meet him, now he realizes he's a rookie and has a lot to learn and is learning and obviously has driving talant, it's just the fact that the "fans" don't see that. If you get a built car for you, go to an airfield, plan out your route, do some practice and get used to your car and obstacles, you can do waht he did, because that IS what he did, anyone can learn how to drive like that.....they don't seem to think that. I mean that is the American dream, and for him to be in with a European dominated field is great! I hope he does well...so I guess yeah, my "hate" boils down to the "brotatos"

So instead of helping to spread the word about one of the most popular and exciting forms of motorsports to possible fans in the US, we should keep out mouths shut. OK, now I get your point. Keep'em ignorant.

I didn't say that!

I want that! Even though NASCAR won't like that i'm glad we're giving exposure to it. Hopefully the fans will realize "wow, there are drivers out there that can do what Tanner, Travis and Ken are doing, and the other drivers in the WRC can drive like they do too, SWEET!"

Why does that matter? WRC and all other motorsports is just entertainment. It matters the same that kids have heard of Sebastian Vettel as much as Loeb or even Bourdais.

Or any of the other drivers...

His videos really come across (to me) as "hey, I'm Ken Block, look how awesome I am". A little much for my tastes.
