Yesterday was the county fair demo derby That I shot as the track photographer. I did over 2400 shots I now need to edit and post online...sigh. My family was in the event with a 99 grand am driven by my 18 year old niece. She was hurt after the heat race and her Aunt Sue over the age of 50 jumped into the car and won the Consi and went to the feature and ran the car. My 17 years nephew drove a 90 Lincoln continental and got put up on the blocks in the heat race just before his sister got hurt. It was the same driver the did both hits. He later come over and said he was sorry for hurting my niece which was very cool. My 9 year old niece Bri ran in the power wheels with her jeep which was fixed so she could use both hands to drive it since she is in a wheel chair. She had a blast and beat someone else that she in Girl Scouts with. I have over 2400 shots that I have to edit and post and I will share some later this week on here along with the races from Fri and Sat night with the wings being the big draw both nights and it was the same driver both nights that won the wings feature race.

Everybody needs to do a demolition derby once in their lives. Tremendous fun! And a great way to learn about and how to work on cars.

I haven't been to one since 94 or 95. Still want to do one at some point. That might be a good send off for the lemon S class that my fil traded his spare truck for.

FYI the Lincoln in the picture is a Town Car, not a Continental.

The 1990 Continental was a smaller more curvaceous piece of junk which are all pretty much extinct because they came with head-gasket-blowing-happy Essex V6es and inadequate cooling.

do the derby, you know you want to to have some not so cheap fun at times. the sport really has gone nuts in the last 15 years in the builds and the cost some people have put into cars. its nothing to see $30,000 into a car and $10,00 into just the motor.
