Ugh, I hope Kimi doesn't go back to Ferrari. I hate Ferrari's F1 team, they're like the Jersey Shore of F1.
I'm hoping he stays at Lotus, but I would enjoy seeing him beat up Seb at RB.
So you think he would get equal equipment at Red Bull? Did you notice how many times he got the new wing, or Webber's car broke when Seb's ran just fine over the past 4 years.
The real question is "Would Kimi get equal equipment?"
Which is why Webber got sick of the BS and went to play with Porsches, about time he had some fun again.
in reply to aussie and carguy: sometimes they try the new stuff on the #2 car, because they don't want stuff to break on the #1 car.
Hhhmmmmm, other news outlets are picking it up.

Which is exactly what we are saying, which car is going to be No. 2?

NO. Weber didn't.
Webber isn't Kimi. Kimi is a world champion, that changes everything.
Looks like it's just a rumor....

Ferrari say there is "no foundation" to claims they are considering Kimi Raikkonen as a team-mate for Fernando Alonso next season.
Felipe Massa, Ferrari's second driver, has had an inconsistent season and has been told to improve if he wants to retain his seat.
"Right now, we're really not giving any thought to the driver-market situation," said a Ferrari spokesman.

It's all over my Motorsports and F1 news sites. I'll link them when I get to a computer.
It is? I'm not seeing it on my usual sites (Sky Sports, Autosport, Speed TV, NBCSN).

And sometimes it's because the #1 driver deserves it so much more than driver #2 & he makes such a stink about it.
Since Bernie likes to mandate things to create more show or spectacle I vote that he mandate Alonso & Seb must be on the same team.
There'd be so much whining, kicking, screaming, moaning and probably some punching that Bernie would get his spectacle.
That motorsport article is so baseless it is funny. The only quote was from a Spanish driver with no link to Kimi, Red Bull or Ferrari and is speaking to a Russian website.
I think that if this happened, both Kimi and Ferrari would be happy to announce it.

Everybody else picked it up now:

http://www.autoweek.com/article/20130731/f1/130739975
But yeah, now that I've had a chance to read the whole thing and not on my phone, it does look like it's a mound of baseless speculation. Even Ferrari says so:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/23700586
Funny though, that the Alonso leaving stuff won't go away:
http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/news/24184/8846091/red-bull-boss-christian-horner-coy-over-shock-fernando-alonso-2014-speculation
I imagine Lotus' continuing funding problem is weighing in on Kimi's decision:

FWIW, motorsport.com's news is usually very good. I use them to follow everything from F1 to the smallest regional series. They have good reporting on Grand Am, World Challenge, and even Sprint Cars.

It would be a crazy silly season to see Emonso or Kimi go to RB to be Vettel's #2 (and I would root for them to put his whineyness into a wall every race) and/or have Kimi to Ferrari.
i hope to see webber punt seabass in the '13 season finale.
Didn't Ferrari spend like $40MM a year for two years on Kimi to NOT race just so they could have Alonso only four years ago?
How could they spend that much, on top of Alonso huge salary and not lock him into a ironclad contract that he could not break? I mean they signed a contract with Kimi that they could not get out of paying.
And if Alonso leaves, won't their main sponsor that came with Alonso leave as well?
I know Flabio is Alonso's manager, so it could be possible.
Not covered on F1Live.com, Autosport.com or F1.com so I call BS.
New rumor (Wish) starting here. Kimi will stay with Lotus for 14. Then in 15 Button will retire and take a management position at McLaren and Kimi will return to the new Honda McLaren team as clear #1 driver.
I just don't see him ever going back to Ferrari after they fired him or see Ferrari having him back after they threw $40m at him to play somewhere else for a couple of years. I think Alonso would accept him as I think Alonso's ego is big enough to believe he is clearly better than Kimi. Alonso and LCH have both said they rate each other as their closest competition in skill level, they seem to have buried the hatchet since 07 and are both on record as saying they have no issue with other and would be happy to be on the same team. Much as I love McLaren, they have a berkeleyed up management structure at times.
