If it doesn't have a tree growing through the middle, forget it .....

Is it so wrong I want one of those, just to swap in something more reliable and rewire?

I took this awhile ago w/ the intent of submitting it, but never got around to it. Also, my camera(phone) isn't all that great--3MP.

Anyway--I've driven by this Lincoln for a few years now. I'll have to look at it up close again to see the last time it was registered, but it's been a LONG time. It sits under this tree all year round, with some other Continentals (usually 70's-era) that come and go. The owner must live in the adjacent apt. complex--which is no place for a car like this. Shame that it's not garaged.

Are early '60s Mercury Comets "cool"?

(And unfortunately the ones uploaded here are too small: http://classicmotorsports.net/ran-when-parked/) Wanna play? Good. Send some clear, high-resolution images to me at david@grassrootsmotorsports.com. Don't forget to include your name plus some details about the car--where it is, what you know about it, etc. I'll handle the rest.

not all but some of these look like cars that are still registered and used!

I dunno if I've ever seen those taillights. Pretty cool to me.

Thanks for the e-mails. By the way, the ones posted on the message board are too small for use in the mag--you need to e-mail the high-resolution images to me.

Thanks!

Finally stopped to take a picture of some old Beetles today. Didn't want to go running across the person's yard so they aren't the best. There is a early 70s ford van in front of the barn too. Nottingham, PA.

I'll email these to you as well. Not sure if they're hi-res enough. Regardless, it pains me every time I drive by the woods where this car is slowly dissolving.

I know of 55ish Cadillac that's slowly returning to nature...I could probably have it for free if I just asked.

Why is all the good stuff, lately, in Ohio, MI, D.C., or someplace else hundreds of miles away? Anybody going to save that M3?

Trust me...we've tried several times. The owner just won't sell it!!!

My father had two of them. They are not cool.

Though I think that Comets were originally supposed to be Edsels.

seems the owner is intent on letting a few other cars return to nature as well... why won't people sell cars that just wind up being yard art?

At that point, it's justifiable to steal it with a flatbed in the dead of night.

"But your honor, it's an E30 M3 abandoned in the woods! I couldn't just let it rot away!"

"Good point. You're free to go, and the previous owner will be charged with criminal negligence."

That thought has crossed our mind too. It's 5 minutes from Mr. Joshua's house.

You're timing is off....wait til "owner" is at work and the spouse is home. approach with cash in hand.

The trailer this car is in front of has had a tarp on the roof for YEARS. Oddly enough, cash doesn't seem to motivate them very well.

I live a block away from a guy with a mid-90's miata on steelies that hasn't been registered in 3 years. It's sitting in his driveway taunting me. Funny that I'm starting to look at them as barn finds.

As to the Midget- run baby, run. That's a little better than mine looked 20 years ago when my dad brought it home for $300. She's still kickin' though.
