Agreed, beyond all sence of value. I think the Defenders are one of those vehicles you can bring in with an EPA exemption. They are no where near as expensive in the UK, I've often thought it would be worth buying in the UK and brining them over here, drive it for a year then sell at a profit, rinse and repeat

I know of a place in England that sells ex-British army Defenders including (last time I was there) LHD ones. I really want to bring one back.

Just keep in mind that the Army ones are usually NA Diesels and might well have a 24V electrical system as well.

Honestly, it isn't the supposed unreliability of Land Rovers and Range Rovers that scare me, it's the price of the parts. I could probably afford to buy a descent one, but as soon as the E36 M3 hits the fan, I probably couldn't afford it.
