Latest addition, Capri content

My newest...picked up yesterday in Texas.

20,*** miles, parked in 81, starts and runs, needs new rubber everywhere, fuel tank reconditioned, replace mounting bolts in rack & pinion.

Very stock, 2.6 4 speed. Clear title.

I am jealous. I would love to have another one. Are the fender flares rusty? I had a few 2.0's in the 80's. the fender flares would always rust. My sister had an automatic one. Totaly destroyed the fun factor.

Or, working or completing the cars is just a portion of the equation. Often the hunt can be more fun.

If it was brown it would be perfect. I've wanted a brown '73 Capri since 1973.

I have very fond memories of attending the Melbourne Auto Show with my father around 71 when the brand new to Oz V6 GT Capri was launched, the car shown was red, with black stripes and Super-roo decals. I was about 8 years old.

I also distinctly remember a cut away engine with moving parts, it was one of those "Wow" moments.

Now do I restore it completely stock, build a Aussie Super-roo or a faux RS 2600

My brother had a brown 2.0. He endoed it one night by drifting off onto the shoulder and hitting a washout, completely destroyed it.

never a massive fan of Capris, but I've always liked the Rostyle wheels yours has. Great find btw.

things that may need attention...

front suspension - sway bar is also the track rod... not the best design

shifter mechanism(external assembly) likes to shift into 2 gears @ the same time

You can't go wrong building it in any of those styles.

Thanks for the offer Evan, I am home safe and sound now car is tucked in until I start on it.

Think I have found a good parts source but any leads from those that have had one of these are most welcome.
