Say you had a 4G32 and you of course wanted more. Well swap in a 4G63/4 right?

What are the pitfalls?

What trans do you use?  Seems manual trans cars are hard to find with these. Can the old 4 speed hold up?

Can you just +T the standard 4G63/4?

If you swap in the newer trans how do you make sure the CV shafts fit/work with it?

If the 6 bolt vs 7 bolt debate worth it or just grab what you can get?

Is it true that all the Honda fan boys will bow down to your greatness?

Wonder if a dual range transmission would hold up to a 4g63...

Yes. You can easily settle any Walmart parking lot dispute by driving up, and popping the hood.

I used to know all these answers. But, I've forgotten. Here's where to find them though, http://4g61t.org/forum/

One of my favorite sources for Mitsubishi 4G information I've never used.

This guy's most recent pet project is a 4g63 swapped Hyundai Elantra. If I remember right it's an NA 2.0 liter short block with a 1.8 liter head. Has an ebay turbo hanging from a stock 1g exhaust manifold. As far as I can tell you can throw boost at an NA long block if you are careful with the tune, but the turbo engine does have lower compression and oil squirters designed to help cool the pistons a bit. The NA engine does have higher compression which means the turbo will spool quicker.

Note that all of my Mitsubishi knowledge comes second hand from a few internet friends. I want one but haven't done it yet.

My only knowledge about Mitsubishis, probably none of it useful...

I've been using an 04 lancer Ralliart wagon as a DD since 09.

4g69, 2.4 liter, 100 mm stroke. 162 HP/torque with a very flat torque curve from the long stroke. Even at 3000 lbs and a 4 speed auto, it'll pull away from my 6 speed nb2.

Some of the Evo crowd will use this block for a build.

I beat on it occasionally, been very reliable, like it a lot more than either of the Accords I've had.

04 lancer Ralliart wagon

The only reason more people don't know those are cool is because they barely exist.

Here’s a great resource for those cars. I played with them for many many years and always had good luck with them.

Definitely don't see many. I'll spot another 04 wagon maybe once or twice a year, but I don't think I've seen another Ralliart wagon in the time I've owned it. We only got the lancer wagon in the USA for one year.

Bought it on impulse, turned out to be a far better car than the 95 Accord wagon it replaced.

Just wish it had been imported to North America with a manual transmission.

They're really rugged, but parts availability sucks, otherwise the 5 speed sedan would be a good rallicross car.

Depending on your power goals, there's a few transmissions available that will work, with various gear ranges.  You can also make a stronger AWD trans work as FWD... (or just make it awd:) ) N/A 4g63's use the same rods as turbos, just higher compression pistons that don't jive well with higher boost, No oil squirters for pistons either, but I think you'd be able to make a reliable 250-300whp, assuming you have a way of tuning timing out of it. 6 bolt turbo motors can make 600+ untouched.

7 bolts can make plenty of power too in stock form, just hope for a healthy motor with a crank that doesnt move around.
