Might have an opportunity in the near future to pick one up cheap.
I already have a message out to NissanTech as he spent 10+ years at an infinity dealer before switching.
Here's what I know.
It's an 07, AWD, 4 door sedan. So it checks all my boxes.
Has about 150k on the clock, and was given to its current owner in trade for labor needing a new front diff and some suspension bits. Those have all been replaced, and after about 1,000 miles it seems to be running and driving fine.
So what do I need to know about this particular flavor of Nissan technology? Glass transmission? Unicorn tear fluids? Rally cross capable maybe?
I love the car. LOVE it.
But...
Having recently bricked my wife's '06, and trying to resolve this as cheaply as possible (used parts, because new Intelligent key module: $1000CDN, new Steering Lock Module: $2000, etc.), I plan to sell mine as soon as it's running again.
I freaking LOVE the car. But when the electrical poops the bed, you're going to wish you didn't buy one.
And yeah, the circuit board in the transmission rounds a corner, and the paths break there. And that's an expensive rebuild - ask me how I know. And the front shocks are $$$.

^This... I should love these cars, they are RWD and look and perform great. BUT ultimately they are modern Nissans. And since modern Nissans and serviceability (and durability) are foreign to each other, i'll never own one..

I think you had a typo in the title so I fixed it.
I have owned '90, '91, & '94 Infiniti Q45s but have never owned an M35. But, I find the M35 to be attractive. I'd be interested in owning one and have suggested them to others as a much overlooked car that can often be bought "undervalued".
The 3.5L is the very same 3.5L that Nissan puts in everything. Therefore a popular engine with popular parts availability. Nothing from Infiniti uses Nissans famously bad CVT trans with one exception the J35/QX60, the rebadged Pathfinder. And, not the good Pathfinder but the Pathfinder with zero off-road capability that used the name later. I am not familiar with the underside of these Infinitis.
You say you can buy it cheap. I bought all my Infinitis cheap. But, I also feel you need to buy them cheap because being an unpopular car, selling it will be difficult and take some time. I would say that Infinitis are not good car to speculate the hopes of "buy low" and "sell high."

Yea I think there was a typo. I could have sworn it said 235 on the back, but that doesn't seem to exist.
I'm not looking for a flip, just something to replace the excursion with at this point. Which still needs to be emptied so it can be cleaned and sold, as it's just a mobile storage shed at this point.
It checks most of my boxes, and I know and trust the guy that has it, I just don't really know anything about them at all.

I just did a 250 mile search on FB for Infiniti M35x. There seem to be many on there listed with more than 150k miles. I take the fact that many have more than 150k miles as a good thing. I recommend reading through those FB listings and looking for trends.
Do the listings with more than 150k miles often say, "just replaced or needs transmission"? Or, do many say, "just replaced or needs HG"? Etc.

Oh man, my brother got ahold of one of these about 2 years ago during the start of covid. Backstory was a college buddy had got it hand me down from his dad and was about to trade it in for like $2k. He grabbed it to flip but my wife's mazda got rear ended so we borrowed it for about a month. Guy had a legit stack of like $45k in receipts and dealer maintenance on it since new. It drove great, fast, took premium if I remember right, quite comfortable, and did have all the bells and whistles but at least to me all were slightly off if you were used to say acura, bmw, or other premium brand. We thought of keeping it but got a Honda fit instead. Brother ended up selling for like $5,500 I believe. Actually, this is a fairly accurate review if you don’t mind his humor
