I really need to stay off craigslist.
Gutted interior, manual transmission, as says it runs but I think the stance is awful nosehigh....
Back away from the phone and go to bed Brandon...

There is nothing more expensive than a cheap 928.
A lot of the parts have been NLA'd, and the ones that aren't are expensive!
Ditch the drive train, slap in LSx, tranny, some solid rear axle and a Mustang II front suspension. Pooof! All those expensive Porche parts are gone.
(Boy, I almost made that sound easy...)
I went to a PCA track day a few weeks ago at Watkins Glenn and there was a guy there with a 928 track car. I have pics on my phone that I have not taken off yet but that car made some very sweet noise as it went by.
Just a thought.
Even if you have a compelling need to get involved with a legendary money pit, there has got to be a better place to start than THAT.

Considering all the known negatives, a 928 with an LSx swap has always been on my short list of want-to-do projects...even without Rebecca De-Mornay.

I think you'd need a train for that, not a Porsche...
That is a parts car.
I wouldn't want to spend the time and money to swap an lsx into a shell that's already beat. Especially with a gutted interior. Unless you're going to do it for the Challenge or Lemons or something.
Parted hell, it still has the engine, gearbox, suspension, doors, and uh... ok, well not much else. The other 2 that came with that one were even more parted. I got all 3 for free for buying the Jeep in the background, and I seriously thought I got shafted. They even came with clean titles!!!
Well, they do sound nice when they are running well:

Granted that's a DOHC 5+L V8 with a carbon fiber intake plus a bunch of other work.
Basically, the engine shares a lot of components with the 944 engine. Ditch the fiddly interior bits and the rest isn't too bad to deal with.
