when the question was posted about Drag racing an Independent rear I remembered the one at Jerry Bell's Shop that had a 9" ford center section W/ stub axel's bolted to the rest of the Vette's rear axel's,and back then I didn't look Farther into it, but may have been a C-5, the Jag rear is BULLET PROOF Dana 60 but Dude It weigh's a ton. the Drag racers make a Back Brace that they weld to the Back of the rear center section and the Axel tubes to stop Flex in the Housing and something like that could be Fabbed to Hold Either of those center sections but on top like a Cobra (Very very similar to my thought's here)and made to bolt in Like a vette does, the Jag even has Mounting bolt Holes Made into the center housing for their assembly that ties the rear and Shocks togeather Ford has an amazing Amount of Gear sets available,and the D-60 has Quit a few themselves. Just Thinking out loud..
