Check to see if the coolant tubes under the intake have been updated. new ones are aluminum. Check carrier bearing on rear driveshaft. If bad, entire shaft needs to be replaced.
Check the price of replacement tires.

Not bad actually. From $600 to $1800 for all corners and good rated name brands.

That's not terrible at all. I have a gbar into the *specs on my ms3....
There is a rather expensive computer control module that goes bad in the 4 wheel drive unit. I think it's a couple grand.
The rear hatch shocks fail.
The coolant pipes aren't too difficult to do. However, the Turbo has a separate piece that goes down the back of the engine between the left bank and the firewall that is difficult to replace. It is a pipe that feeds the turbochargers with coolant.
(they are all automatics (tiptronics)...)
Just buy it! Bigger turbos and intercoolers and win at everything!
Seller said coolant pipes weren't done yet, but seal on driveshaft bearing looks new.
He also has an S with 118k miles with new aluminum coolant pipes and carrier bearing for $13k. Is mileage too high. Is this where the nickle and dimeing begins?
Just be aware that, for the most part, Porsche does not rebuild those engines. If you spin a bearing or they just wear too much, they'll just say it's best to install a 16K+ crate engine.
Also, the S is nowhere near as fun as the Turbo.
I've seen a couple of these in the $15k range.
