My wife got a new job with with a longer, more highway-centric commute. As such we're looking to sell her 2009 Fit and get something safer and more comfortable. So far her favorite has been GLA by far. Anyone have some ownership experience? How's maintenance and reliability? Thanks!

my wife and I had a 21 GLB (basically the more boxy SUV version of the GLA)  it was nice.  It was a lease so we traded it in before it got too many miles but during the time we had it, it never went to the dealership.  it was comfortable but not as comfortable as the larger RWD based MB platforms (I.e. the GLC / c-class) are more comfortable.

I personally like the RWD based german platforms a bit more...  We went to an x3 on her current lease and prefer the ride quite a bit more.

We have a 2021 GLC in the fleet, zero issues. SWMBO had 7 Leuxus in a row, wanted something smaller and didn't like the RX. Compared the Volvo XC40 and XC60, along with the GLA/GLB/GLC. The GLC won out and has been flawless. As stated above, the GLA and GLB are slightly less smooth, but slight is the key word. Once they are a few years old, they are pretty close in price, so if shopping used, I'd drive all 3 and see what one fits.
