So did you buy it?
Yup, we picked it up yesterday morning . Should make for a fun winter project as it needs paint and a good cleaning. I think we'll run 18x10 996 turbo rear wheels and GT3 Cup rear tires all the way around. The wheels will be a major expense but we can get the take-off slicks for almost free.
I'll snap a few pictures this weekend and make a readers rides profile.
I added some pics to the readers ride section along with a small update. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/reader-rides/2367/
edit I guess it takes a few hours for the updated pictures to show up.
Yes, if you do a conversion, Please buy from Renegade.
My company has screwed him over in the past, and I really like the guy, so please purchase swap stuff from him. His stuff is quality. I have seen one of his Subaru 914s, and it was immaculately done.
For a grand you can always part it out and make a profit. Not worth trying to restore.
They were cool cars in their day but sure don't bring a lot of love these days. Main problem is they had zero compeition history, and well, they're just not a 911.
I lived with an 87 s4 for about 2 years (87-89) and it was a hoot of a car. I will have one again some day. I even know where "my" car is sitting. I have every so often let the current owner know that if they ever want to sell put me first on the list.
The car has been sitting in a heated garage for 15 years so it would need a complete restoration. It is one of the first s4's in the country. Dark blue on dark blue with a standard trans. Dang it I am now going to give the current owner a call again LOL
See, I'd leave the phone dials alone, and just go with orange stripes and some white gumballs on the doors. But it is your car.
