I've always wanted a cop-cap daily driver, and for some time have been looking for something that's big enough for my 3 critters to sit in comfort when I don't want to be seen rocking the mini-van ......and CVPI's have been my keyword in the local classified ads browser for a couple of weeks. (I'd honestly prefer a Caprice, but the Crowns are newer....I'd prefer to move up and not backwards when your talking DD's)

I know more than a few of you peeps have been driving these for a few years , so what's the first hand pro's and cons ????

Get a 2003 or newer. Change the plugs ASAP and re-torque every 10K. Expect people to drive funny around you. Three carseats won't fit in the back, but two and a small booster will. They drift really well. Get a tuner.

Buy the cleanest, least-abused one you can. Make sure P71 is in the VIN or buy a civilian car.

I put 27,5xx on mine in under 3 years, raced in 1/4 mile, autocross, HPDE, and a drift event/gymkhana. I sold it last week but I miss it. It was a good car, and a damn fine one at the $2,450 purchase price.

wow thanks for the info , I've been looking at the 05 up for the extra hp (250?) because I've heard they are better in a few other upgrades.

I'm terribly missing my mustangs, so figure this would satisfy me well for now (the TR sucks at drag-racing) It will be replacing my Focus as a 4-season daily driver (small daily commute to work, and some other misc mostly just running around in circles ) Good point on the plugs, I'd prolly flush the trans out too for good measure.

The clean ones around here with about 150,000km's run about 3500$
