Guilty.
Well, one is in the truck. But two more sitting around.

Ive got one in an old ranch truck that runs fine and has a rebuilt c4 behind it. The truck has pretty much rusted through everywhere, and isnt worth saving.
But I dont think itd end up saving me much, and around here a 6cyl truck is worth considerably less than an 8. Plus V8s make V8 noises.
The 300 is pretty much a tractor engine and Ive never seen something put up wth the abuse and neglect a 300 will, you dont have to convince me of the virtues of one.
In reply to Opti :
I love the 300 but the 352/360/390 is good too and if that's stock I'd just go with it
I have had one for over twenty years. In the middle of a major rebuild right now, but I put a lot of miles on it. It is a F100 4x4 with power steering I made to fit, and it is a quiet comfortable truck to drive. I am 5'11" and had lots of room.
Also, most FE's were 360's but when they are for sale they are always 390's. Kind of like there are far more Corvette engines in modified Chevrolets than they ever put in the Corvettes to begin with.
Before everyone goes down the rabbit hole with engine swaps, let's wait to see what he finds out about the existing drivetrain. The fix may end up being something relatively simple.

I already have a 528 BBF stroker planned for his truck with a 10-71 Weiand on it.
