Yep, rear. It really helped the car carve corners much better. Stock, these things push like crazy and don't rotate that well. IMHO.

I would wait on the big rear bar until you get a posi in there. Big rear bar plus open diff makes for a lot of one wheel wonder moments.

Huh. I would think big front would be the answer here. Its extremely rare to see a competitive RWD car with a huge rear bar and stock front bar. Or a huge rear bar at all.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! Is there an LSD I can get for the 7.5?

Some Monte Carlos had posis, as did some of the Grand Prixs.

I wouldn't bother putting a lsd in a 7.5, especially in car that big.

My Monte has a 7 5/8" with 3.73s and a posi and it's still good with about 175000 miles on it.

How much power do you feed it?

we road raced on a 3.73 7.5" posi for a number of years with zero issues. This was living behind a decent 350 sbc with some minor mods (headers, tuned, cam).

Never once had any rearend issues.

as far as the swaybar is concerned, these cars aren't exactly sportscars. The front end geometry needs fixed before you do anything to the rear.

On these cars, rear swaybar diameter doesn't have as large an impact on the balance of the car. The rear swaybars on these do not attach to the chassis at any point. They go from one lower arm to the other. For this reason, you WILL see a large to huge swaybar on the back of these cars for road racing / autocross. That is, unless the rearend is changed to a different setup (get rid of the 4 arm setup).

Hope this helps clarify the situation.

P.S. large front swaybars will negatively impact front end grip with a well designed suspension setup.

I would recommend a rear bar like this one: http://scandc.com/new/node/684 if you are changing/adding one. It does attach to the chassis, is adjustable and works better than the stock design.

As for posi diffs, you can also get them from 3rd and 4th gen camaro/firebirds, just watch for the axle spline count. Early ones are 26, later are 28 spline.

Agreed! That is probably the better way to go.

Better save up, then. Or should I work on getting the 0-60 below 10 seconds.
