If you like this, you would love the Don Garlits Museum south of Ocala, Florida, which is packed with his legendary Swamp Rat dragsters and many other historic racers. You might even catch "Big Daddy" himself working in the shop.
It's cool, but is it wrong that I think it would be cooler if the supercharged V8 on the roof was real and the builder devised a clever way to get that horsepower to the ground? Though I suspect that all that mass on the roof would have a somewhat negative impact on handling.

I don't think you can negatively impact the handling of a 80s Caddy. Once you reach the bottom, there really isn't anywhere to go but up.
Heck, I just want to make a streetable version of one of my dad's old Fuel Altereds. While his later cars were slicker, I love this earlier incarnation with the still open cockpit. (That's Pops shooting Super 8 at the track in the firesuit)

+1 for this!
Went through a few years back. I could have easily spent the whole day there. After a couple hours, SWMBO was whining and reminding me that we still had a long way to go before our day was done.
plan on spending as much time as you possibly can, you still won't see everything.

Dude! That is bad ass! Alterd drivers were all a little nuts. You need to start a thread with more stories and pictures.
