I am an idiot. I have that turbo on the shelf. It is a 10k takeoff to up grade to a performance one. One of those parts I will use for something sometime. I did not realise it until late I saw your photos.

Got the turbo in all the lines closed up, installed the EBCS, and installed the downpipe. Then realized I'm a dumb berkeley and tightened all the top downpipe nuts without getting that annoyingly hard to reach nut on the underside of the downpipe. Sadly no pictures right now because I was trying to hammer it home. Since I failed I'll get them when I return to the US.

Fitment is actually pretty good for the Corksport turbo. Drop in pretty much means just that. There are two issues that I have though:

1) I really wish they had included a new lower coolant line. I had to be pretty careful taking off the line as I tend to be ham fisted with stuck hoses and there was a reasonable chance I could have bent it.

2) The wastegate actuator is a bit larger and if you connect the coolant support bracket to that nest of hoses that runs around the turbo to the heater core, the actuator will contact the coolant hoses pretty hard. I'll either put a barbed connector in there to give me a little more slack or or I'll make a spacer and get a longer bolt to attach to the turbo to support the coolant lines. The former seems to be the preferred option on the car specific forums though.

Called it a loss since I have to be up at 4:15 for the flight and its 1:30. Oh well, I guess I'm not as good as I thought I was. I'll zombie revive the rest of this rebuild in 6 months.

Dean: No worries I've been telling the wife for months that when the K04 failed I was going to get the Corksport unit. I didn't expect it to be so soon but I got to go shopping.
