So one might be wondering why I have posted anything.. couple of reasons..
- Due to past issues with the forum, I not sure what I can and can't say in the forum
- Keith seems to be doing very well keeping everyone updated on my progress. The issue with the tracktuned site is that I had an update and added them to the post, but after posting, it was blocked and was waiting for mod approval, I messaged the mods without anyone unlocking the post, so as always I deleted it. I thought it was a good site to have post the upcoming track events we have planned, but no mods or admins got back to me on my adjustments. The eng-tips site allowed me to create a post dealing with the shock modification and how I went about locating a class 3-6 truck shock for the van. More importantly how I got that shock to fit and articulate correctly on the van. For a full list of what was successfully installed on the van: https://www.eng-tips.com/threads/follow-up.525135/page-3#post-9214677
- The "suspension" part of the build is over. We finished the build a few months back and installed everything on our list, Though there could be room for improvements, we'll make adjustments accordingly and if necessary.
- Right now I'm waiting on a new track addition to our list. I took a chance in contacting them and now I'm waiting on either their approval or deny of my entry onto their track.

So were you able to get on track already last year or will this be your first track excursion?
In reply to AMiataCalledSteve :
it was our hope to get on the track last spring or fall. but the wife had to have a liver biopsy.. and any track date was taken off the table. she has stage 1 cirrhosis of the liver. However and even though our original track dates have been moved back.. we got a surprise a few days ago from a new track that might be willing to allow us on the track and that could happen as soon as 2 weeks from now. right now I'm waiting on the track members to allow or deny my track entry.. if apporvl we're heading out to summitracing as we have a discount code for a new helmet via autointerests.com.
I guess at some point I'll post a list of thsoe tracks that have said they would allow the van on their track either with no fee or a small fee.

And since this thread was originally to talk about cool Transit Connects, check out this ST-swapped one that sold on Cars and Bids.

Man... that is freakin' awesome... I'm glad I didn't see the auction or I would have been tempted to bid on it. Main issue for me is I'm not sure it would be possible to get this to pass PA emissions since I'm guessing the OBD II is pulling data from the original Focus VIN and not the Transit Connect VIN.
I just wish Ford had sold a longer version of the Connect here in the US. While the interior height is more than a Grand Caravan (a positive), the shorter length behind the front seats is a deal-breaker for me. Even my GC is just barely long enough for what I use it for.
A couple of things many Connect owners over look. The snowflake wheels are NOT load indexed to be installed on the van. So assuming you're going to tow or haul with the van, you're risking structural failure of the wheels. Research more info about the van above, Aaron Vaccar built this van for a "dotmaster" who posted this on a Focus forum. On the same Focus forum a "Duff" is building his own ST connect. While those guys focused on upgrading the engines and transmission, we went in a different direction by focusing on the suspension. All of these guys have one thing in common.. they spotted a build on passionford many years ago which deals with a fellow in UK who built the first Focus RS. At that time Ford was not willing to build something like this from a production standpoint.. but later changed their mind and thus the Focus RS was born.
