A stripped-out saturn. If you take out enough stuff, you can get them under 2000 lbs.

Well, with a full interior they would still likely be just over 2000.
Not sure what the 1.4T setup weighs, but it wouldn't surprise me if it outweighed the factory Saturn motor (and probably D-series Hondas as well), so the weight difference might not be as much as one would like.

My Toyota Tercel STD is just over 1900lbs with no mods, my Echo was 1990lbs but that was with light wheels and tires.

Yeah I have been looking at the Tercel pretty hard, there's even a 1.3L Turbo JDM swap for them, that makes 133hp. I would love the CRX / Civic hatch but it seems around here (upstate, NY) they are all rust buckets. I also saw a Yugo for $1500, how light exactly are they? Although lack of aftermarket suspensions worry me for the Yugo. This would be a daily so it needs to have interior / roof / doors. As far as weight and aero I think the 1st gen Insight is going to be the leader. Found one for $3k with a dead battery and low miles....tempting...
Another vote for an 80's civic if you can find one. I own a 93 Civic. It's a light car. But its a good 400lbs heavier than the Civic hatch my Mom's owned when I was in college.
