Hey look, an equally fast car.
Andy just finished his session and did very well--1:28s in this car isn't half bad! We'll see if it's enough for a second in class once results are posted.
And looking at the Catalyst times, Andy didn't lose speed over three laps, either. We'll see if the car pulls power this afternoon, but 100 octane gas might have actually made a difference.
Tom studying my am laps via the very clever Garmin Catalyst Optimal Lap feature.
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
Oh yeah, the best place to review data is the front of the lunch line.
Fun fact...
A GTI in the dry is faster than a McLaren 720 in damp conditions, according to results from last years visit here.
Or, I just suck in the wet.
:)
Morning results are posted; Andy was 29th overall and third in class. Well done! I go out in an hour or so, then it's a 700 mile transit to NCM.

Pretty sure that is nick. Also, I'm pretty sure (if I know ben), that the unicorn in some of the other pictures is Nick and Bens.
Tom on track!
Just hopped out of the car and feel real good about that session--I managed a lap two tenths slower than Andy, and I've never been to Hallet before. Sweet! The Catalyst said my overall time was equal to Andy, but that's without the second or so launch to the finish line. That should mean a similar overall finish.
We're packed up and on the road to NCM--ETA 11:19.
"humorously", it looks like someone grabbed the morning page of results when loading the afternoon's results into the database... or some other copy/paste error:

The hamsters might be working to correct it, or they might be beating fleet feet to outrun the rain that I'm hearing chatter about?

I was jabbering at work about how manufactured the closeout panel was, and one of my coworkers pointed out that they could have 3D printed the surrounds.
And, you know, there are regular breaks in the surround like it had been printed on something that could do no larger than, say, 18x18 or so. Maybe 24x24.
I keep forgetting that we live in the future
Batten down the hatches!!!
fyi, afternoon results have been updated to "fix the glitch"
edit
looks like Tom as 0.5sec slower than Andy, which dropped him 5spots as some people "learned" from the morning.
US60 through MO is such a cool drive...even in the rain.

After watching Keiichi Tsuchiya drive one on track, they need more brake, maybe?
It was funny to hear him freaking out in every braking zone.
Also, there is a market for ridiculous Mopars in Japan, as there is a dedicated private importer for them
