Always missing us interesting peoples
Just finished my first ever session in One Lap, and it went great! I went out onto a slightly damp track, and managed a total time a few seconds faster than Andy--but more importantly faster than the Camry, too. Success!
With that, we're all done at Nelson. The car is packed back up and we're on our way to Road Atlanta (700 miles away). Current ETA is 12:20am.
word is the SundaeCup cars are finished, and on the road
they got to share a run group with BradLTL and some strange Mercedes...

afternoon results will eventually get posted here:

22nd overall, nice job Tom!
Results were just posted; in the afternoon we landed 22nd overall, which should help our points considerably. The Camry was over 15 seconds slower than us, so we seem to have a significant advantage in the rain.
Andy and I will be doing rain dances for the rest of the week!
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
Thanks! I'm just glad I didn't stuff it into a tire wall after saying I was hoping for rain.

did I "read" that right earlier... y'all're on a 225 RE-71RS?
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
Yep! Stock shocks, 225-width tires. We're punching above our weight for now, but it's very early in the week.
In reply to Mattastick :
The car has a flash tune from 034Motorsport and a cold-air-intake, but that's it. We should be somewhere around 300hp at the crank, but haven't put the car on a dyno yet.
wheee !!!!
Dinner time! We tried to eat Wendy's but there were a few people in line. Instead, tonight's gourmet meal is Hardee's!

That Mercedes was HUGE and very fast, in The morning heats it was lined up behind the cayenne and wasn't that much smaller
I didn't know anything about the Mercedes GT 6.3s so I looked it up.

The GT63 S's twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 heart pounds out 630 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. All that throbbing energy is routed through a nine-speed automatic and the AMG-tuned 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, which enables this Mercedes to bolt to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. The quarter-mile is an 11.1-second 125-mph blur. AMG claims a top speed of 195 mph; it says as much on the tire-inflation sticker on the inside of the gas-filler flap that instructs you to increase the tire pressures for driving at speeds above 156 mph. In our testing, the GT63 S reached 175 mph from rest in the space of one mile.
... that extra gear pumped up the GT63 S's $160,995 asking price to $189,360
...pricey rear tires ($554 each at Tire Rack last we checked)

And so quiet, too!

I have many pics and some videos I need to figure out how to concentrate into one, so I don't have to upload like seven different 30 second vids
Sundae cup all made it in as well. Tired. We had a pit stop to help a fellow one lapper with a bad fuel gauge sender.
one advantage of being back of the pack is we get to help those that have had trouble. Never leave a teammate behind! A couple quick calls and 15 minutes later we had them back on the road!
Good morning from One Lap! Next stop is Nine Lives Racing, where we're picking up some extra speed for the GTI.
Guess where we are?
