You can cycle through different dashboard faces although, to be honest, I preferred the standard one. (The first one.)
I forget what Ford calls this one:
This is the track one:
I think this one was called chill or something like that:
Also, I didn’t choose Classic Rewind. It’s okay but not my fave.
The “Track use only” refers to the exhaust note setting.

Is that an advertisement on your dash??

If you're talking about the Facebook link, it's the display for the satellite radio.
Yeah, a little odd to get a Facebook link like that.
“Hold on, let me pull over and look up this FB link.”

The dash isn't amazing. I think I prefer the dash in my 2014 V6 Premium. Analog gauges and enough digital info to keep you informed. Knobs for all the things is also my preference.
The lack of 6-speed would also be a disappointment.

That's mildly infuriating. Have they learned nothing from streaming? The basic package can be 'ad supported', but upgrading to the premium package should always be 'ad free'.

When I have XM, the only thing I listen to is Faction #314.
People keep using the word "retro "and post S197 Mustang in the same sentence, I don't think that word means what you think means. LOL
My company car Explorer had the same engine and AT combo. It was maddening, especially since there was no way to manually shift it. It had different drive modes, and "Sport" was too much for normal driving, but the "Tow/Haul" mode was good for regular street driving. I'm guessing that the Mustang doesn't have a "Tow/Haul" mode, though!

Classic is considered 20-40 years old. The SN197 came out for MY 2005. Guess what happens at the end of this month.
That said, I think the only classic reference in here was to a XM station, not a car.
Over my time, I learned that the mustang is a classic mid life crisis car- more about what it says it can do than its actual ability to do it. So it ends up being a better car for the nominal consumer.

Pretty impressive that Ford has maintained retro looks for the Mustang for now more than 20 years–longer than the production span of the original.
I agree with tester. The S197 (10 years) is the only actually retro gen.

In reply to Driven5 :
Wiki says 20 years.
The fifth-generation Ford Mustang, is a two-door four-seater pony car manufactured and marketed by Ford from 2004 to 2014, for the 2005 to 2014 model years — carrying the internal designation S197 and marketed in coupe and convertible body styles.
Retro* is a style mimicking the original. The S197 did that. The post 2014 cars are not retro. They are modern with some styling cues.
Also, the instrument panel is an abomination.

Yeah, Faction is good. I’m an album guy and usually just stream from my phone. I do like Chill, though. It’s rather chill.

It was made to look like a '69, how is that not retro?
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
Does that mean the next one will be retro to the Mustang II? I think I'm a little queasy.
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
S197 is retro. 2005 to 2014.
Post S197 is not. Post means after. As in 2015-current...

Retro to the II would be good. Smaller, lighter, and nice clean lines. I think the Mustang II fastback was a nice looking car even though I bought a new 74 Capri v6 instead.

What, you mean like having a 2.3l four cylinder for the base model?

In reply to Keith Tanner : I had a GT convertible from Enterprise a coupla years ago. They were out of almost everything except SUV's so I "accepted" the 'stang. It moved right out, had more headroom than a hardtop, and got way better mileage than my STI that was in the shop.
That said, my autocross pals loved the Ecoboost on tight tracks but they lose out to the V8's once you get some room to romp. And as of three years ago the 10 speeds just do NOT like hot days, even on less than 1 minute runs ten minutes apart. Don't know if Ford has fixed that.
