And, oil leak in 3..2..1.. just kidding. Hopefully
The Ohio sky... 50 shades of grey. It usually clears up as you crawl out of the Ohio river valley into Ky.
If you smell burning oil or see a whiff of smoke coming from the cowl area it is the valve cover gasket. The oil runs down the back of the heat shield and drips right onto the catalytic converter.
We barely got 1/2" of snow up here in Dayton, melted by 4pm. Radar was showing almost all rain for you down there and heading south.
I work on a lot of these and the most common leak at the oil filter housing is from the oil filter cap seal, usually part of a aftermarket and cheap filter kit. .be sure to check that cap seal before condemning the housing seal!

When we picked it up the dealer said they did the valve cover gasket since it was oozing a bit. So nice to know we can scratch one thing off the list of annoying and overly complicated BMW maintenance hassles. Unfortunately that only reduces that list by like .006%.
Overall, though, the car seems great. I did about 400 miles and the thing drives like a champ and everything I've poked thusfar works fine.

Thought of you.
There's literally no price that can sell for, high or low, that won't somehow hurt my feelings.
Just realized my room is right above where I parked and it makes for an interesting angle. It's smartly proportioned, but it's not small. Here it is parked next to a Bronco.

I have to ask, where was that Harbor Freight you were parked by ??? You may have been very close to my home.....
In reply to JG Pasterjak :
Unless we just cancel your flight for, you know, no good reason at all. That's the way we roll.

Same. Totally the same.
On a related note, do not click this link. I spent some time looking at it. Looked way clean.
Wow, it's longer than a Bronco! I didn't expect that.
Just looked it up, and the 435i (still have a hard time typing a 4 there) is a full 8.1 inches longer than my old E36 M3. The car. Not my excrement.

Jiminy Cricket!
I have an S50B30US, an M50, and 3 S52s...and at 70 yrs old, pretty sure I won't have to mess with that!

To be fair, that's a Bronco Sport, not a Bronco...

I had that happen at Amelia Island once. Someone needs to come up with a sniglet for it.
Got home last night just in time to watch the Dolphins finally beat a team with a winning record. Overall, the thing was utterly drama-free. My first impression is that this is really a LOT of car for $19,500. After nearly 900 miles on the road I COMPLETELY get the siren song of seemingly-affordable off-warranty BMWs.
I figured out how to reset the trip computer about 100 miles into the journey, so this isn't the whole trip, but it's close. Not bad numbers for a comfy, sporty cruiser.

I went to bed like five minute before the game ended, but this is where it seemed to be going.
This is what happened, right?
RIGHT?

I think so. Although those chicken enchiladas for dinner during the game led to a really bizarre dream about the ending......
Since calipers usually have their lettering rotated so the center of the wheel is the bottom of the caliper, I cannot read that caliper logo as anything but W///.
