Family member is new to HPDE, but is a single guy and is seriously eyeballing an Evora 400 for casual driving and a handful of HPDE weekends a year.
Anything you can offer from experience driving them? Prepping them for Novice HPDE use? Reliability of the drivetrain? Tips on driving on at speed?
Really anything would be helpful. Thanks!
They have a fleet of them at Atlanta Motorsports Park that they use for the Lotus Experience. The instructors tell me that they're fast, fun and reliable, they're really impressed. If he wants to try one on the track before committing it might be worth a trip to Atlanta to try one out.

Just make sure that he's financially and mentally set in case the car is damaged or destroyed. Stuff can happen no matter how good a driver he is.

Introduce him to track day insurance.
CAinCA beat me to it. If he can afford a late model Evora insurance shouldn't be a barrier.
Understood on the track day insurance. He's already getting quotes for the next event at HPT in June...
i spent some time looking at earlier Evora's and after reading, researching, etc. I ended up getting a 911. Evora sales were low as a result parts availability can be somewhat sparse so if/when something breaks it can take a LONG time to get replacement.
replacing the clutch on that car involves removing the rear clamshell and that is a very intensive job ($9k+ job). https://www.lotustalk.com/threads/evora-clutch-replacement-9-000-and-the-supercharger.123712/
Throttle house review of the Evora: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPYQrKbidT4 at one point they mentioned that the people dropping the car off gave them instructions on how to jump the car...
Great cars but probably best as a 4th+ car in a fleet.
