What if I had a bunch of parts that could be used as a donor for a simple Locost?
I've got basically a complete Alfa Giuletta Sprint w/o a body- front/rear suspension, engine, trans, steering, etc.
Do you think if I packaged it all together, someone may buy it as a set?
Mind you, it won't make a rocket, as it's a 1300, and a 4 speed trans.
But just curious what you all thought.

I think you should build yourself a Locost!
Had I found all that stuff when I was starting my build, I probably would have bought it instead of an AE86 Corolla. Although, I think I got the whole wrecked AE86 (single cam) for $200. I might have spent more for Alfa stuff, but I don't know how much more. There would come a price point where Toyota reliability and parts availability would outweigh Alfa coolness.
Sounds like a nice donor - I looked for a twin cam Alfa myself but the right deal never came along. Not sure I'd try to sell it that way though - Locost builders are a small market and generally on the cheap side. Probably better to sell to Alfa guys.
depends mainly on the price point

Yes, there's a market. We sell "pallet donors" for Westfield builders, and we've had a number of requests from Locost builders - and I believe we've shipped at least two out to be turned into Locosts. It's always going to be cheaper for someone to strip their own car, but not everyone has the space or the interest in doing that.

I've thought about that a lot, but I'm way too deep into 3 other non- runners. So I'd rather spend my time, and some extra cash doing that.
I guess the real question is whether I would get a decent amount of money for the parts. Knowing Alfas, I think I would get more for the engine/trans for another Alfa onwer, and perhasp even the rear axle. But suspension and steering is another area- a lot of those parts are still around, since they don't rust all that much.
Vs. almost all modern engines, the Alfa isn't all that great- I have to be honest with myself here. If you want an old look, and style- yea, this twin cam pre-dates the Lotus by about 10 years, and my particular enigne is form about '56. But you'd have to spend a lot of money toget much more than 110hp out of this 1300. It's all relative.
Thanks for the help.
