SanFord needs a new drivers window. What it has now is a crappy sliding arrangement that doesn't seal well and is a pain to open.
I love driving with the windows open. Rather than another crappy sliding window, I'm thinking of a window I can roll down.
What I'm looking for is a complete drivers door, with a manual or power window, with a flat piece of glass and straight slide rails. I'll steal the top frame, regulator and glass to install where the current window is. A Samurai door is close, but surprisingly enough, the glass is curved.
Max size for the window is 30" wide and 19 tall. A square window would need to be a little shorter in the width. I can deal with more or less in the height.
Extra bonus points if it's available cheap.

It's probably going to have to be old or maybe something out of a commercial truck.
Ideas??
Thanks!

Look at step vans. Lots of them have a flat roll down window in a sliding door that can probably be adapted to your bus.
I live near a Junkyard that does busses, I have ignored this but I will make an exception. Someone else chime in and save me.

Your saving grace, I've never seen a bus with a roll down window.
Any glass shop can cut you a new laminated glass window. I got tinted ones made for my fire truck.
Beyond that you need a pair of channels and some sash for the mechanics of making the window go up and down. Aluminum channel would be perfect, but a 3/4 square steel tube with one edge cut off would be about perfect too. To motorize it just get the motor and cable assembly from most imports, the top and bottom pulleys, and the grip channel for the bottom of the glass. Probably $25 at any junkyard, though at a u-pull-it I find it's cheaper to just get the whole door and bring back the shell.
I actually like sliding windows. The ability to open it a little in the front or the back or both works for me. I'd just get new glass, probably a little bit longer for more overlap, and new sashes and seals. Lots of old VW vans and Rover stuff had sliding windows for a start in looking for seals.
Found an old Winnebago Chieftain, looks similar to what you may need. glass is 20" wide, 26" tall flat as a tabletop.
