Immediate Open Call for Racing Proposals from Royal Purple and Stark Motor Racing

PR Newswire

PORTER, Texas, Jan. 5

PORTER, Texas, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Performance lubricant manufacturer Royal Purple and Stark Motor Racing today announced that they are seeking requests for racing proposals for the upcoming 2010 season. They seek dynamic professional and amateur racers who have an interest in primary sponsorships for the month(s) of April and/or May 2010. They will be accepting proposals from automotive, truck, motorcycle, off-road and marine racers.

"We're looking for racers and teams that really connect with tech-savvy fans," said Royal Purple VP of Sales & Marketing Mark McFann. "It doesn't matter whether it's drifting, circle track, straight track, whatever... we just want racers that connect with fans."

Royal Purple was selected as the preferred motor oil for Stark Motor Racing. The selection was based on Royal Purple's reputation for producing lubricants that enhance performance, as well as reduce the impact on the environment.

Royal Purple is expected to use the alliance with Stark Motor Racing as a launching pad for its new racing oil XPR 3.1. The product launch is planned for late spring 2010.

Racers can find out more and submit proposals by visiting http://www.starkmotorracing.com. Proposals will be accepted through January 31, 2010.

So... as someone who is about to start amateur competition, I have been thinking getting sponsorship could be kind of cool. This begs the question though:

How does one best go about preparing an effective sponsorship proposal?

They sponsored my dad's E36 Lightweight team in the mid 90s, still have cases of royal purple in the garage

Not to paddle my canoe(or anyone elses') but Royal Purple is good stuff. I used to buy it in 5 gallon pails shipped right to my door.

^+1 I use RP in my FD (gasp**** Synthetic in a Rotary!!!). It actually burns cleaner, & cooler than the mineral oil. The Ash count on this stuff is near 0.

Royal Purple and Red Line have become the only two oils I use in my track cars. Any thoughts on which of those lubricants people prefer?

I usually get RP, because it's easier to find around here. Only one place sells Redline.

Convince the sponsor they'll make a good return on their investment. They'll want pictures of the car, information about where you're running it, and if you're able to get magazine coverage that's even better. Also, it's a good thing to keep in touch with sponsors after getting sponsorship, let them know how you're getting them advertising and publicity. That may encourage them to send more items your way.

I like Royal Purple because when it leaks out of all of the pores in my Miata's engine, it leaves a nice purple stain on the garage floor instead of disgusting black. Of course, it's the only oil that I've ever bought that consistently drips out past the drain plug, but at least it's purple.

Is this just a gimmick for Iron Man 2 or what?

I guess I'd be all right with free oil in exchange for stickers or something, but I've never had a sponsor. I don't know that my attendance record to any events would justify it.

Yeah, they've posted this on a ton of other forums with the same exact offer . . .
