Looking for feedback on Mercedes SLK 230

Hi all,

I am considering picking up a 1998 Mercedes SLK 230 to replace the daily driving duties of my 1990 Miata. Does anyone have some first hand experience with these? I would definitely prefer a manual transmission, but how bad is the automatic version? The obvious choice would normally be to go with a manual, but the car in question is being offered by my aunt, I just have to come pick it up, and I am not about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Never mind, I took one for a drive and it wasn't for me. The extra power was nice, but it felt like a pretty disconnected driving experience compared to what I'm used to.
