looking for m 16 10,9 bolts, long shank

 for my steering linkage.......i will need to lower my centre link/ drag ling down from were is is right now,,, i am useing qa1 rod ends for my steering,, and have no desire for the rod end to be on the threaded part.. right now, the only option i have now is getting a real long bolt with the shank i can use, and cutting off the ( some ) threaded part..in the photo here it is the one on the right hand side

Check the thread length on the second option. 26mm of thread, the rest is shank.

Metric sizing makes that a problem.

I didn't look for your specific need but they sell individuals and have decent options.

5/8 and 16mm are functionally identical in diameter, 16m is 0.004in larger.

a A/N bolt is = to grade 5.. i would like my steering to be a wee bit stronger

If your going with 16 mm/ 5/8" bolt you could hang your whole car in the air by one of those and have a huge safety factor.

While AN bolts are not as hard as grade 8 they will bend and  not break when they exceed their limit.

And I would not use nylock nuts if your concerned about safety.

The OEM use castle nuts and drilled bolts with a cotter pin.

Or an all metal lock nut.

AN bolts come with different shank lengths to so that threaded portions of bolt are not in the joint itself. Try Aircraft Spruce or Wicks Aircraft Supply online catalogs.
