Hi guys, this upcoming summer, I'm looking to get involved any way possible with racing teams on any level. (I'm back in school for mechanical engineering, and would love to get some racing team involvement before looking for more involved racing work or internships.) I would be willing to do just about any job you guys need done (ie: parts runner, cook, etc.) and I have a reasonable amount of experience working on cars (though Im not very experienced with diagnostics). I am a hard worker and am every eager to learn the ins and outs of how a racing team operates. I live in the Chicago area, and could help at any track within a six hour drive of Chicago (Ie: Autobahn CC, Road America, Gateway, etc.) If this fits any of your team's needs or if you know a team looking for some free help, please let me know. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up Jim! Shoot yes you can get involved. 16VCorey and I have at least 3 different race cars we're going to have on track with Chumpcar this season, and Gene across the river in Owensboro has a couple Z31 300zx's that he races in both Chump and NASA. We can always use an extra wrench in the pit or the garage. I'll be racing at Gateway at least twice this year, Gingerman, Autobahn, Nat'l Corvette Museum, and Atlanta Motorsports Park. email me moore at ciholas dot com and I'll fill you in on details and try to answer questions.

If you show up at a Lemons race this summer I'm sure that there are teams that would not turn you down if you offered to help in any way. I currently have been working at some level with 3 different Chicago area teams. If you go to the Lemons forum and post the same offer I'm sure that you will have no problem finding a number of teams who could use your help.

It's rare any team in Lemons has more then 1 good "wrench" that's why someone who can do fabrication, or machining, or welding, or engine work has no problem finding a team to work with.
