You appear to have forgotten “defecate” , as in “you should loosen up and be more self defecating”.... haha

It's only that I've had three friends pop them. They might all be bros. Well, at least two of them are, but they were all NA with what I would call "mild" bolt ons. All were tracked. All died. Probably not representative but enough to make me nervous for a car that I would certainly track if I bought it.
You are making me think that I should add some sort of oil temp gauge to the Accord though.
Were they tuned? OTS tunes? Dyno tunes? Did they datalog and keep an eye on things? Were they using an oil cooler?
What was the failure mode? Spin the #3 bearing (have enough oil)? Spit a rod through the block (crummy tune)? Pop a rocker retainer through the valve cover (raise the rev limit or money shift)?
Then are guys like Ian down in Atlanta, who is also a Porsche instructor with 20k track miles, and then another 5k track miles running nearly 350whp on a turbo before he spun a bearing. Mike Kang who tests all the Jackson Racing stuff on their twin.
You admitted they were bros, that tells you what you need to know on these cars. :)
