Anybody planning on watching this show? Tonight at 10pm on the History Channel. Rutledge Wood and George Flanigen doing their version of GRM/Wheeler Dealers.

I don't get that channel. Sounds like it may be interesting. If it catches on what will they do with the wall to wall Pawn Star episodes they've been running on a loop for the past 5 years?

This looked cool to me, but I'm cheap and don't have cable. I'll have to find it online after the fact or something. Interested to hear how it is.

Never heard of it. Will this be another show focused on restomodding musclecars like all of the other American car shows besides TGUS? What I like about Wheeler Dealers is the relative diversity of cars they choose to work on. That, and many of the ones available in the US are actually affordable and not subject to some kind of nostalgia tax.

In reply to RexSeven:

"Two friends on the ultimate road trip saving America's greatest, weirdest and coolest cars." is what I have seen repeated in press releases leading up to the show.

based upon previews/commercials I have seen and Rut's known appreciation for not so common cars, I think there will be a pretty good variety of cars on the show and not so much cookie cutter stuff.

I should have the first episode on my DVR now.

Watched it. Some was a little annoying, especially his friend. But I'll give it some time.

I like his tow rig:

I have it on DVR, but can't believe one of the American Top Gear guys has another show.

I saw that van and Rut on Power Tour last year. It is VERY cool.

Watched it last night and while there was some stupid filler for those who have an attention span of 3 seconds, it wasn't bad. I'll watch it again. At least they were honest about the Delorean and Ruts Subie 360 golf cart was awesome.

The Delorean owner though....

No $hit!

The show was meh overall. The Subie was cool. George is already annoying. I'll try one more episode to see if it improves.

Yeah, what was the deal with the owner? Man he was weird, and not because of the delorean.

I forgot about that, but I like Rut the best of all the TG:USA hosts, so I'll give it a shot.

A little disappointed that they didn't show the work being done. But it was entertaining.

Buying a "parts car" to fix a "project" and then fixing the "parts car" using parts from the "project" made me think of some of the build threads on here.

Don't think you can get more diverse than restoring a Delorean that had been submerged in salt water from Hurricane Sandy and a Subaru 360 being turned into a golf cart.

In all honesty, I think he has Aspergers. The way he spoke and his facial expressions are a lot like the one my cousin makes when trying to have a conversation with him.

I like the concept but where was the wrenching? Is wheeler dealers the only show that actually shows any work? I'm so tired of all the magical instant transformations. My kids watch a treehouse masters show that has more tech.

that subie 360 golf cart is officially the coolest golf kart ever. what a great use for an old kei car.

The lack of tech is disappointing to us because of who we are(car guys). And I like Treehouse Masters for the tech.

But on the entertainment side it passed the "wife test". Usually we watch TV in separate rooms in the evening because we like different types of shows. Shortly after the show started she came in my room to ask me a question. She got to giggling over some of the repartee between Rutledge and George and ended up watching the whole show. When they had the Delorean on the lift and rusted suspension parts were falling off she got to laughing so much I thought she was going to choke.

I just scraped it. It was worth watching. The next vehicles coming up will be a VW Thing, Ford F100, and a Toyota FJ.

I kinda liked it. I loved the Subie Golf cart. Rut's friend was only slightly less annoying then Anthony on TGUSA, but I was wondering if he's just not used to being in front of a camera yet.

I'll give it another shot, I hope they keep the mix of cars very eclectic, and show some actual wrenching on future episodes.
