I'm using an LS in my Challenge build and while I had it hanging from the ceiling I took the opportunity to weigh it. I used two bathroom scales, one under each end, one digital and one analog. Weighed as shown in the photos, aluminum block (5.3) ,intake and throttle body, power steering pump, alternator, and aftermarket "shorty" headers.

So all in, 399 lbs. That also includes the 4x4s it's sitting on.
Some more details.....
It's a truck motor, so has the extended truck accessory drive. Intake is an LS1 piece. Oil pan is the "bat wing" unit from some year of Corvette. Things will still have to be changed a little because the throttle body interferes with the alternator bracket and the water pump outlet. Neither will affect the weight much, if at all.
I'd say those 4x4s come close to equaling the weight of the coils.
In reply to GCrites80s :
Oops.....I forgot to set the coils on there.
Another picture....engine and trans next to the chassis it's going in...
