Recently there was a thread about sources for magnetic numbers and class letters but I'm at a loss to find it. Search is fruitless.
I've attempted cutting them myself on CNC router with drag knife but the results are crappy and material expensive. Rather than waste yet more material to get better at it, I'm ready to hand someone money.
Could someone point me towards that thread? Also, is there a way to earmark threads so I could get back to them later?
I'm a big fan of https://soloperformance.com/ - Dave's a longtime autocrosser, and a big supporter of our local STL autoX scene. Had a selection of magnetic numbers for the NC Miata, and now have static cling numbers for the C5Z06.

Is there a reason that you don't want to use stick on numbers?
The only racers I knew that used magnetic were a husband and wife who ran the same car in different classes using different numbers.
I never had to deal with the issue - my two race cars had alloy and fiberglass doors so magnetic was a non-starter.
Mine came from Spinnywhoosh.

Similar situation. Miata running ES. It gets driven some on the street. GF and I both run same class with different numbers. Been using some I hand cut years ago, but course workers complained about low visibility so I'm gonna fix that with bigger contrasting color numbers.
Oh yeah, a pic of those numbers. The class designations are old. Just the meatballs came from Spinnywhoosh. Each one is a printed panel.

Have you actually used this? I bought some lower priced mag sheets and they barely stick to the shop fridge. That would be a problem. Not all created magnetically equal... I learned my lesson.

Or have an arts and crafts day - get some bulk material, make some templates, and cut them out yourself with scissors.

That's where what I'm using now came from...25+ years ago! Was hoping for an upgrade.

I just ordered a set from AutoRallyMotorsports, they are due to arrive tomorrow. i tried some magnetic sheet for AX last fall and it just barely stuck. I'm hoping these will have much more "grip". I'll let you know what they are like.
I've made my own ever since I started autocross in 2018. I learned from a friend to use contact paper for the numbers. I used to mask them off and spray paint them.
This set's a few months old.

If you want a semi-permanent option...I use plastidip for my dedicated AX car
I bought my first set from spinywoosh about 10 years ago, the magnetic backing material finally started to break down, so I had them make a new custom set for the Volvo.

The Camaro now sports permanent numbers from racingdecals.com

Not for numbers, as I don't compete any longer, but I do have decals that I throw on either car occasionally and they stayed in place at Interstate speeds. The largest pair is my Grassroots Motorsports ones.
I've been using IZoom Graphics for close to 20 years now, great numbers and great service.

Making your own from Mac-tac has a long history. These numbers were put on by me 24 years ago.

I stole the old race wheels for one of my street cars though:

Plotter-style vinyl cutters are pretty cheap used. Get one of those, cut out the numbers you want, stick them on a square of magnetic material. Or you can skip the magnetic material and just stick them straight on the car if you like -- vinyl is cheap enough that you can probably get a year or two's worth of autox events out of one roll.
