Many years ago, I saw a Biturbo in the pick and pull. The car seemed immaculate for its age and I could only wonder at the extent of the mechanical issues that resulted in its abandonment.

I don't think it is usually mechanical issues that puts them out. I think the engine (as long as the timing belt is changed) is pretty stout as is the ZF trans. So I think it is generally electrical (problematic fuse box)

There were carb issues, but those can be remedied with a megasquirt/EFI conversion.

Oh, and the early oil cooled turbos would coke up, but that is owner error and probably not the car's fault.

I agree, lowered on those wheels makes it look like a boxy form of the 6 series from the 80s

LS engine, or maybe a Grand National Turbo V6. I just think the GN motor would be right at home there. Back it up with a T56 6-speed and be on your way.

Or as mentioned, LS turbo.

there was a guy in the DC area a few months back that had TWO biturbos for sale for like $2500. Said one ran and the other was complete but didn't run. Would only sell them together and IIRC the ad said something like "because you will need plenty of parts" lol....

corrected link for m4ff3w

Wow-Choppy!

edit-huh! Guess GRM doesn't like youtube links. Cut and Paste:

Edit-Wow again! Didn't work when using little "hyperlink" tab, but it turned into a working link just by placing a non-HTML coded link on the board.

I'm a few hours away, excited like a kid waiting for Christmas. She needs the following:

Battery

Air filter box (has a hole in it, I think I can successfully repair)

Clutch slave

Coolant reservoir cap

Battery

Carb kit

A good vacuum diagram

And of course some electrical troubleshooting.
