The newer LFX is 335hp, and the manual behind them is a six speed Tremec unit that also does duty in the Mustang GT350, so it's plenty stout for the V6.

I have seen two with holed blocks already.
That and the LS1's habit of dropping valves, causing carnage that usually includes a destroyed block after the piston breaks and the wrist pin beats the cylinder out... rotaries look pretty dang reliable. Even the RX-8 version.
