Found a Mazda 6 with a bad V6 engine cheap.

I found a V6 Engine at a local recycler - problem car is a MT and engine came from a car that is an AT.

Can I simply remove the flexplate and bolt on the flywheel? Is it that easy. The flywheel, ECU and everything would come with the car.

The reason I am asking is that car-part.com lists them as separate options but the vin code is the same.

without knowing specifically about that model that is usually the only difference. occasionally there will be some small differences with sensors etc

For an example, on a Zetec, I believe the plastic housing that holds the crank position sensor (that reads the back side of the flexplate or flywheel) has a slightly different depth depending on if a flexplate or flywheel is installed.

But if you have the two engines, you can always swap those little things over.

might be a pilot bearing in the manual trans version, and no provision for one on the A/T engine.
