Not quite what you are thinking, there is a cheap mazdaspeed for sale near me, it has a knocking engine, and I have a complete running 95 1.8 engine with low kms. How hard would it be to swap in my 1.8 and 5 speed into a 2004 Mazdaspeed? It would be non-turbo.

The actual swap would be cake, it'll bolt in. Heck, you could strap the MSM turbo to the side of it and retain the turbo.

What Keith said. I'd put the Mazdaspeed head on there if it's still good. Just dump in the 95 bottom end, only. You'll need to do some slight changes when it comes to turbo oiling things, but i think that's about it.

I've wanted to buy another MSM and de-turbo it for track toy use, myself.

Do all the na and nb suspensions bolt in to each generation?

They're mostly interchangeable, I know that NB -> NA is a direct bolt in, for NA -> NB you may have to change out the rear top hats.

There are definitely some variations you need to know - front uprights, steering racks, front subframes and front upper control arms need to stay together. But there's a lot of interchange.

One of the guys at FM has a MSM for a daily driver. He's thought about turning it naturally aspirated just to mess with people.
