I was trying to get a Bluetooth adapter working with my MS1 v3.0. I kept getting a dropped connection so I unplugged and plugged the adapter. Lights on the stim and megasquirt flickered and now I no long have readings for TPS, coolant temp, air intake temp, and 02. MS is sending 5 volts to the stim and when I adjust the knobs to change temp I’m getting 1-5V back thought the 36 pin connector. So it sounds like the sensors are working and MS is getting a signal but in Tunerstudios I don’t see any changes. Temps stay at -40 degrees and the other sensors are maxed out. I tried loading the firmware again and a different tune but no luck. I must have burned up something on the board but I have no idea what to check.

i'm just trying to think what links all those circuts together... seems wierd that they all got screwy at the same time and its not a software thing...
The more annoying thing is the battery in my meter died so all I can do for now is just stare at wiring diagrams.
Did you check the port settings in TunerStudio? Make sure it is pointed at the proper port and port rate.
The bluetooth to serial adapter would use a virtual serial port, not Com1 or Com 2
Hope that helps.
Ports settings are ok in tunerstudios. I’m connected fine and I can adjust RPM and see changes in timing, pulse width, duty cycle etc. I also see the same thing when using the bluethooth connection with my phone. When the lights flickered I think that’s when I fried something.

You may have to explicitly re-bind yur Bluetooth devices.
Does the problem only happen over Bluetooth or does it happen over a regular serial cable too?
It happens over both serial and Bluetooth.
What exactly is it reading? Any chance the processor's VREF pin is not getting 5 volts?
A vref problem would only be clt and iat and not tps an o2. Batt volts and map read ok?
I've found sometimes if the VREF at the CPU itself is altered, every analog input goes funny.
Finally found time to try and troubleshoot this again. I'm getting 5 Volts at the VREF pin and CPU. Also I'm getting all sensor outputs at the CPU and can see the voltage change when I adjust them with the stim. Not sure where to go from here.
For fun I reloaded the firmware but I'm still having the same problem.
You still have working comms?
Yes, tried different comm ports but in tunerstudios I’m only seeing RPM, dwell, duty cycle, etc change. Intake and coolant temp say -40, map reads 100 KPA even with vacuum pump hooked up to it, and TPS doesn’t move. I even tried a different old lap top with tunerstudios and a DB9 cable but had the same problem. I’m leaning towards a bad processor since I don’t know what else I can test.
Have you posted this up over on the MS forums?

Not yet, I post all my questions in life here first. Maybe tonight I’ll see what the MS forum has to say. Hey, by chance do you have a spare MS1 chip?
Does the voltage on the CPU pins change as you turn the trim pots?

You commented that you reloaded the firm ware.
Did you load the B&G or MSE code?
Did you just load the .msq file?
Did you try to recalibrate the TPS and CLT sensors?
I have had problems in the past if the power is interrupted while there is a read/write cycle going on. I was able to reload all the settings and it has been working well for many years.
If you can get a tach signal and see other aspects working, the unit is not fried. Corrupted software maybe. 70F is the default IAT sensor reading if there is 1) no software file or 2) no hardware connection.

Sorry I do not. I have a jim stim if you want to try it on your MS unit
Update!
Picked up a used CPU and my MS1 is fixed.
