Paging t25torx and any other Mercedes people...
I've been offered a 2002 Mercedes Benz C320 estate with 188k on it for $1500. Runs with a slight miss, drives, clean title, looks good. The hood won't open, the ignition won't turn, and the grill is busted, plus it's been sitting 6 months. Had AMG badges and big wheels (factory looking).
Run?
The ignition thing is the only real worrying issue to me, what's the deal with it? If it won't turn how does the car start? Is this a flip or keep? Also I need pics.
The regular C class cars are easier to find parts for than the AMG variants. The engine mounts will be shot for sure, and does the A/C work?
It ran and drove, then the key got sick in the ignition and it won't turn. Key is still in it. I saw it run right before this happened. It's a flip! No idea on A/C. I don't even know if it's a C32 AMGod or a C320 with badges.
Clean title for sure. It's actually at my dealer friend's who I swapped the Javelin for the Cobra from.
In reply to Javelin:
Well considering they never imported true C32 estates to the US I'm gonna say it's a badge job. If you can get it for a grand I think it might be worth it.
I know the key getting stuck in the ignition was a common issue on older Benzes, not sure how involved it would be in a newer one.
