I'm trying to get some info about the tpms system in a 2014 glk350. It is getting new tires soon and the tpms sensors should probably be replaced since they are originals. From what I have read it appears I could order some aftermarket ones pre programmed to 433 hertz and then use the self learn feature in the dash menu and drive the car for a 15 minutes until the new sensors sync up to the car. I'm trying to avoid a trip to the dealer for new programmed sensors. Can anyone with experience verify that this would work?
Edit: www.oewheelsllsc.com is the company I was gonna use to buy the programmed aftermarket sensors.
I have replaced them in a 128i and a Town and Country but I bought mine from rock auto. They have been fine. Cheaper than all the options I saw.

I'm not so worried about the quality of the sensors. I'm trying to figure out if buying pre programmed sensors will allow me to sync them to the car myself without having to pay a dealer to program them.
My 2012 Merc learned the new sensors on its own. No programming or any input from me at all was necessary.

Yup, that's what I was saying. They come preset to the car.

Gotcha. Thanks for the reply. That's what I was hoping the case would be.
