I have a winter/ rallycross 1990 Miata. The springs are OEM, 54k mile units off another 1990. Shocks are KYB AGX adjustable that still seem to work. That is, I can turn the knob and compression/rebound does notably change between #1 and #8 when jouncing the car. Handling responds logically on the street as well. Bump stops are the plain foam ones that you get in a box with Koni Sport shocks and top hats are stock NA units.
I know these cars suffer from limited rear suspension travel in general but for whatever reason this car seems to sit lower in the rear and bottom out way easier than others I have had.
So. What am I missing? Or...what suspension have others run for rallyx on NA Miatas?
Stock springs, super blown stock shocks:
Lower mile OEM springs from the same year car, KYB shocks. Same site, same tires, just about the same grip believe it or not:
Now it has all the roll and all the squat. The last one is just full throttle on flat ground. That's ridiculous. Need to do something different.
