I'm sure Keith can answer this...

My buddy has an NB1 Miata. He's been looking for a decent coilover setup, but we just found a guy selling an Eibach spring/kyb shock combo. $180 for all four corners, and they look like they have low miles on them.

My question is, these are for an NA car, so can we swap these onto the NB without needing any special parts? From the research I've done, it appears you can just bolt them right up, but they will lower the car another half inch on top of what the rest of the setup does as far as lowering. Also, anybody run a similar setup? How did it perform? Thanks!

Your friend has found a cheap coilover setup, but not a good coilover setup. Well, if they're 2.5" Eibach race springs at least they're decent springs depending on the rate. If they're the stock replacement 3.5" units, just stop now.

The NA shock shafts have a shorter stud on the end. This makes it difficult to fit them with the bushings required for an NB setup. I wouldn't bother in this case.
