I was at the junk yard today and right before closing I saw they had a 1994 Miata. Car was really beat inside and out but it has a 1.8L, 5 speed manual, tan leather interior, P/W, P/S, A/C and headrest speakers. Now before rushing back to the yard in the morning how can I tell if this car has a torsen? I could not get to the drain plug to remove it and look inside. Someone had jacked up one side i'm guessing to spin the axle but you can't test a torsen that way right? When I tried the axle would spin with the other side on the ground.
Any other quick ways to check or is there a tag somewhere on the car that says it has a torsen?

It's got a Torsen. Most 1994 manuals do, and all of the leather manual cars do.
Thanks, picked it up today and it is a torsen. I ended up having the yard pull it since everything under the car was extreamly rusty (New England car). I was hoping to pick up the axles and driveshaft too but the axles nuts were way too rusty and the driveshaft u-joints were both bad.
Now I just need another Miata to put it in.

How much do you want for it? And where is there a decent junk yard?
