There's a Miata for sale here locally without a title. It needs a fuel pump and some various body work.

I know there are several guys on here that part out Miatas. How much can you usually get parting out a Miata? In other words, at what point would I be over paying for the car.

The guy's had it for sale for a while so I would think he should be negotiable on it.

I would have to say not a whole lot.

Does it have the VLSD? good top? how many miles are on the drivetrain?

What does it take to get a new 'salvage' type title in this situation?

Aren't there a couple of states that you can license an older car with just a bill of sale?

Is so can you get that state to generate a title if you resell out of state?

Also, I think that shops can get a mechanics title on cars that have been abandoned at there shop. Have any friends with shops?

I haven't been to look at the car in person yet.

I tried to get the guy to email me the VIN and all about a month ago and he never did. I was going to see if I could find out the last person that had it titled.

I considered buying it and building a race car but I'm not sure I want a designated race car right now.
