I'm considering using R56 Mini Cooper rear springs in an atypical application. Would anyone happen to know the inner/outer diameter of the top and bottom? I'd be appreciative of R50, R52, R56, etc dimensions as i believe they are similar.

According to some dimensions on replacement rear springs from Rockauto, OD is 104mmm, ID is 83mm at the top. no bottom dimensions given.

Thanks. How do you know that's the top measurement and not say the middle?

The site below is where I found these springs. I searched on the sachs spring part number to identify what it was used for. I searched gon Google for mini forums spring rates for different minis.

This site has a great searchable spring database. The url looks sketchy, but it was a top hit on Google: https://size.name/en/catalog/pruzhiny

Edit: I suppose ID is easy to calculate from wire thickness, so it's really OD that I need.

In reply to Snrub :

From the pictures of the springs, it appears they are a constant OD except the bottom loop.

I bought a set of rear mini springs. The OD is 4 5/16" on one end and the pigtail end is 3 1/8 to 3 1/2".
